A BIT ABOUT ME

I recently retired after teaching pre-calculus to high school juniors and seniors for 10 years. During my teaching career, I had an excellent reputation among both students and faculty as a clear communicator and a fair grader with high expectations. I was also very good at “differentiating” instruction – tailoring my teaching style and methods according to the different learning styles and abilities of my students. I use this ability to differentiate instruction to tailor my tutoring to the needs of each individual student. I was known as a warm and caring teacher who wanted the best for all my students.

Although my formal teaching experience is in high school math, I am available to tutor students in any grade from elementary school through high school. In fact, I am currently tutoring several 5th and 6th grade students in math.

I am also trained as an SAT tutor by Kaplan Test Prep. In addition to being an expert in the math tested by the SAT, I know many test taking strategies that have been proven to increase SAT scores. I have tutored a number of students in the math section of the SAT exam.
